HANDPAN TECHNIQUES:
- The handpan is placed on the cross legs and the sound can be made by tapping with the palm or the fingers. It can also be placed on a stand. Unlike steel tongue drums with hammers, the sound is softer and warmer. Depending on the musician's technique, the sound of the handpan may be similar to a harp. an ancient bell or a tuned steel tongue drum. Each sound field has several overtone resonance zones around the basic sound.
- The most basic way to play a handpan is to alternate play with the fingers of both hands. At the beginning of the practice you may not be able to strike a sound, or the strike sound is relatively dry. In this case, you need to adjust the strength of your fingers when you strike and let your arms fully relax in order to strike a flexible sound.
- The centre sound "DING" of the handpan can be played with different techniques. In addition to tapping with your fingertips you can also play with the palm or the bottom of your palm for different sound effects. The sound "DING" tapping with the palm of the hand will be thicker than the sound of fingertip tapping and the sound of fingertip tapping will be more clear.
- PLEASE NOTE: The included beaters are only to be used for sound testing. Do not use them for prolonged percussion performance otherwise the scale of the handpan may be deformed and go out of pitch.
